1 cup dried black eyed peas
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups water; (4 to 5)
1/2 cup uncooked rice
2 slices bacon cut into halves; (2 to 3)
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1 small chopped onion
salt; pepper and msg for
-- ground beef
1 clove chopped garlic

Cover Black Eyed Peas with Water and Bring to a boil. Add the Bacon, Onion, Garlic and 1 Teaspoon Salt. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 2 hours or until the Peas are tender. Add the Rice, cover and cook for about 20 minutes. While the Rice is cooking Sauté the Lean Ground Beef adding a little Salt, Fresh Ground Black Pepper and MSG to Taste.
