Thead Family Slaw


1 head cabbage
1 large carrot
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Chop the cabbage. Shred the carrot. Mix with all ingredients except mayonnaise in large bowl. Add mayonnaise to desired consistency. Usually in the neighborhood of 3/4 to 1 cup. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. It'll collapse significantly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Well, this is kind of a family recipe, but I doubt if they'll find out I posted it. Growing up, I would only eat my mother's cole slaw. Then one day it occurred to me that I'd better get that recipe before it was too late. Here it is.
